Hello, we are Jim, Kim and Hunter. Thank you so much for taking the time to learn more about us. While we don’t know you or the circumstances that have brought you to contemplate adoption, we respect your courage for considering the most loveable option and for giving your child the gift of life. The decision you make in choosing parents for your child involves your mind, heart and soul. We know this has to be a challenging time for you and that you must care very much for the little miracle you are carrying to have considered adoption. This decision will probably be the most wonderful, selfless gift you can give to another human being. We admire you and your strength of character, especially in a society today that is not always supportive of the honorable and giving ways of others. We believe that women like you bring a gift to couples who may not have the ability to have a family own their own.
The Beginning
We met in February fourteen years ago. We went to dinner on our first date and realized very quickly that we have so much in common. We knew that evening there is such a thing as love at first sight and that we were soul mates. After our first date, Jim told his Mom that Kim was the one he wanted to marry.
In March of the following year we exchanged vows. We had a beautiful wedding ceremony and it was wonderful being surrounded by our family and friends. We took a cruise to the Bahamas for our honeymoon and had a wonderful time shopping, sight-seeing and going to all the beaches.
About Us
In April of 2003 our son Hunter was born. We were matched in February and in April we received a call from our birthmother telling us she had just given birth to our beautiful son. Man she was right. Hunter was the most precious baby of all times. This was absolutely the most incredible time of our life. We hope to receive that call again. We are so looking forward to adding to our family. Hunter is very excited about having a brother or sister. Because we adopted Hunter, we feel that our family has so much more than love to provide another child, we have a support system! Our dream is that our children can be there for each other because they have a wonderful experience to share.
Jim is a North Carolina native who grew up in a loving family of four sisters. On Jim’s side of the family there are nine nephews, two nieces, two great-nephews and one on the way. They all live fairly close so we get together frequently. Jim works as a technician for a large corporation and enjoys what he does. He also “flips” houses in his spare time. Jim is very outgoing and fun-loving. He enjoys fishing at the beach in the summer and hunting in the winter.
Kim is a North Carolina native and has two younger sisters. On Kim’s side of the family there are two nephews and lots of cousins. Kim works in marketing at the same company as Jim and loves her job. Kim is a very nurturing, kind, and loving person who loves being a Mother. She is very involved in Hunter’s preschool and has a great time working with children. Kim also loves spending her summer weekends at the beach.
Our Home
We live in a small neighborhood. There are about seven children Hunter’s age. We live in a young community and there are lot’s of babies on the way. We own a four bedroom house with a huge bonus room for playing large yard.
Fun Times
We love the beach! We are at the beach pretty much every weekend in the summer. Kim’s Mom and Dad have a condo right on the ocean. We have lots of friends and family at the beach we go to, so we have a lot of fun. We have a boat that we love to take out. Hunter enjoys fishing with his Dad. Mom loves to just hang out on the boat.
About Adoption
We feel that adoption is the most precious gift a woman can offer another family. We believe these women are angels from heaven put on the earth to provide couples with the miracle of having their own family. We are very open with Hunter on adoption. He is only four and has a hard time of understanding, but it is not secret to him that he’s adopted. He understands that Mommy’s tummy is “broken” and that there was a wonderful woman that carried him in her tummy for Mommy and Daddy. He knows that he was born in our hearts and dreams.
