Parker Herring

E. Parker Herring Attorney

Parker is a board certified family law specialist and Raleigh native who has practiced in Wake County for 23 years. She is a 1975 graduate of the UNC-Chapel Hill and a 1985 graduate of the Wake Forest School of Law. Parker and her husband Steve have  three children -- two of whom are adopted and one who was born with the help of advanced fertility treatments. She is founder and the managing member of the law firm of Herring Mills & Kratt, PLLC

Bobby Mills

Bobby D. Mills Attorney

Bobby is a board certified family  law specialist and a member of  the American Academy of  Adoption Attorneys. He is a1982 graduate of the UNC-Asheville and a 1985 graduate of the Wake Forest School of Law. He limits his practice to family law and adoption.

Tara

Tara Leahy Paralegal
Tara received her paralegal certificate in 1996 from St. Mary's College in Moraga, California.  In 2001 she relocated with her husband to the Triangle area and has spent the last seven years working in the areas of real estate and family law.  Tara received her North Carolina Paralegal Certification in the Fall of 2006.  In August of 2008, she joined Herring Mills & Kratt as an adoption paralegal, where she assists with the processing of agency adoptions for A Child's Hope.  Tara lives in Garner with her wonderful husband Mark and their beautiful daughter Emily.

Michelle A. Cash Agency Coordinator

Michelle has a degree in business administration from NC Wesleyan College, a paralegal certificate, and over 10 years of paralegal experience. In 2001 she relocated from Upstate New York to the Triangle area. Michelle and her husband Jon live in Benson with their beautiful daughter Gabby.

 

Adoption Counselors
We have trained and compassionate adoption counselors located throughout the state of North Carolina to meet and counsel our birthparents and adoptive couples to facilitate the adoption process before and after placement.  

Laura Kladis Adoption Counselor/Supervisor

Laura attended East Carolina University where she completed both graduate and undergraduate degrees in Social Work. She began her career in 1999 and has developed various skills and expertise in diverse areas of practice including e conomic assistance, child welfare services, juvenile injury prevention, women’s and children’s hospital case management, grief/loss issues, and adoption. She has experience working with birth parents and adoptive parents in both local and interstate adoptions and has extensive knowledge regarding the positive aspects of open adoption.

Lesha Parks Workman has over 10 years of experience working with children and families.  She graduated with a Master's degree in Agency Counseling from North Carolina A&T State University.  She enjoys shopping, traveling, and entertaining friends and family. She happily resides in Guilford County with her husband, Mike and dog, KJ. 

Marisa Brooks received her Bachelors Degree in Social Work from Winthrop University and a Masters in Social Work from the University of South Carolina. A native of West Columbia, SC, she now resides in Huntersville, NC with her husband. Marisa’s experience includes work with abused and neglected children through social services, management of a shelter for children in foster care, and medical social services in the hospital setting. Marisa is also an adult adoptee.

Katie Treadway  is a graduate of Campbell University with a degree in Social Work.  She has 12 years of experience working with children and families in crisis situations. While working with the department of social services she has had many opportunities to insure at risk children are placed in safe homes.  Katie was born in Asheville nc,  and currently resides in Holly Springs. Katie has a dog named Bella and a cat named Joy.  Bella and Katie currently train in Dog agility and hope to one day compete.
